Studies on the Tissue Culture of Ornithogalum Thyrsoides in vitro

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was carried out to determine the optimum concentration of plant growth regulators for callus induction and organogenesis from shoot apical meristem and bulb scale of Ornithogalum thyrsoides in vitro.
The results obtained were summarized as follows.
1. Ratio of callus formation from shoot apical meristem was the best in the medium combined with 0.2㎎/ℓ IBA and 2.0㎎/ℓ kinetin.
2. Ratio of shoot differentiation from calli originated in above medium after subculture was the highest in the medium added with 0.2㎎/ℓ NAA and 2.0㎎/ℓ kinetin.
3. Little callus formation from bulb scale tissue was induced in ail the media used, but shoot formation was very good in the media supplemented with 0.2㎎/ℓ IAA and 2.0㎎/ℓ kinetin.
